About the Author: Melinda (Melle) Hany, RN, ADN Registered Nurse | Women’s Health Writer
Melinda “Melle” Hany is a Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and over a decade of hands-on experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and family practice. With a strong background in clinical care and a passion for women’s health, she brings medical insight and empathy to everything she writes.
Melle’s expertise spans the full spectrum of womanhood — from puberty and pregnancy to perimenopause and postmenopause. She’s spent years helping women navigate sensitive health topics in clinical settings, and today, she channels that same care into writing medically accurate, accessible content that empowers women to better understand their bodies.
As a nurse in a family medicine and dermatology practice, Melle sees firsthand how skin, hormones, and health intersect at every stage of life. Whether she’s helping a patient soothe vulvar dryness or educating readers on the difference between the vulva and vagina, she’s always advocating for informed, stigma-free conversations.
With a deep respect for science and a sharp eye for detail, Melle is known for her thoughtful, well-researched work. She uses her clinical knowledge to create content that empowers and resonates. Her goal? To make medically sound information feel relatable, helpful, and human.
Outside of her clinical work, Melle has built a reputation as a trusted writer for health and wellness brands. She takes pride in maintaining the medical integrity readers deserve. Melle earned her Associate Degree in Nursing and the Arts from Heartland Community College and is a proud member of the Illinois Nurses Association (INA).
She continues to work as a full-time nurse while contributing her voice to educational content that supports, informs, and uplifts women of all ages.
